In early January, a Survey went out via Email to all Amberwood Village members and a post was made on Facebook (Amberwood and Friends of Amberwood) targeting all Amberwood Village homeowners.

We received 160 responses: 91 from Condos and 59 from the Trails.

  • 10 non-AVRA members

Considering we only have 342 AVRA members; 150 responses is excellent. It represents 43% of our membership. The average online survey usually generates a 30% response rate.

Unfortunately, we only garnered 10 responses from the non-AVRA members and would very much like to have heard from many more.

The survey had a few intended purposes. One was to seek the homeowners’ preference for the upcoming AGM (in-person or virtual). Another goal was to determine how the members felt about the frequency of communication from the AVRA board and how you received most of your communication. Email was the winner, with the Amberwood Insider coming in second, and websites following this.

We wanted to know who was visiting the Gallery and who was using the indoor and outdoor activities in the summer and winter.

Lastly, we were looking for ideas on events for homeowners since we already have a long list of Community events planned.

Participants were asked about their participation in Community Events such as pancake breakfast, breakfast with Santa, Scavenger Hunt, Paint Night, etc.

The question was intended to raise awareness that we offer community events. It was not a mandatory question and there were only 45 responses.

Respondents were asked to recommend quarterly activities for the Amberwood Village Homeowners.  Open ended question.

There were many suggestions for additional activities for the planning team.  Interestingly, some of the suggestions are already being offered:  Wine Tasking, Music night), Paint night, Fitness (being offered at the Clubhouse), Music by the Pool. At this time, volunteer leads for events are needed to move these from suggestions to actions. Please consider volunteering as a lead for any of the following suggestions: after school crafts (for school age children), kids movie night, meet your neighbours, photography club, walking group, bingo nights – you can send an email to:  [email protected]

Members were asked if they would consider attending an in-person Annual General Meeting on May 8th

  • 30 (20%) indifferent /don’t plan on attending

Members were asked about the Frequency of Communication they received 

  • 12 (9%) said it was not enough
  • 2 (1%) said it was too much
  • 136 (90%) said it was just right

Most of the people receive their communication via email. Approximately 75% of the members open the Amberwood Insider. According to our survey 34% of our members don’t belong to any Facebook group.
